The Public Relations department works towards sustaining the financial viability of the Centre through maintaining relations with current partners, establishing new relations with potential partners, and strengthening the image of PCC, both locally and internationally.

As with all departments at PCC, the Public Relations department implements its work based on the PCC's five year strategic plan. The Public Relations department coordinates its work with all departments of the centre, particularly the Administration and Financial Department and in close coordination with the Director. The department also plays a major role in assessing the needs of the various target groups within the Palestinian community as a base for all the projects for which funding is sought.

Through the work of the Public Relations department, the PCC has been able to gain the general public's support and confidence, both locally and internationally evidenced by the financial support received from different funding agencies, including 4 core donors that have built either short term or long term relations with the centre.

The department is responsible for the publication and dissemination of brochures, reports, leaflets, magazines on the work of the PCC.

The Public Relations department provides media coverage of the activities of the Center through electronic publications as well as local newspapers. PCC also coordinates the involvement of staff in radio and TV interviews on PCC's activities and programs. The media is used as a vehicle to raise the awareness of the Palestinian community around the center's work and its activities, in addition to the various mental health issues affecting individuals and the effects of the occupation on the psychology of Palestinians.

The Public Relations department works on reflecting the political situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories to international organizations and delegations through presentations, meetings, and/or through the hosting of delegations for funders in different areas of the West Bank.

The Onion, A Symbol for the Palestinian Counseling Center !

…………………

The Onion was chosen as a symbol for the center because it signifies the individual. From a cursory look at people we can only see the outer skin of individuals. However, if we want to delve deeply into a person's character we have to peel the layers of skin and feelings to see a whole outlook for the individual. This process might prove to be painful for some. The onion can also represent the root of things, and it also signifies cultivation in Palestinian Folklore.
