The Advocacy and Lobbying Department was established in 2005 to work on
issues related to the environment surrounding the
Palestinian individual and his/her mental well-being. This
department works in close coordination with organizations
and institutions to ensure a joint vision and work to enable
mental health institutions to work towards policy change to
benefit the community as a whole. This department was
established to complement the role of the other PCC
departments and programs that work to build a balance
between the individual and his/her environment and lead to
mental well-being.
The department works on the following objectives:
-
Developing and improving mental health related policies
and procedures.
-
Contribute to the development of a national mental health
plan.
-
Exposing Israeli policies and violations as they are the
main cause of the deteriorating mental health situation in
the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
This department works with the local and international community,
mainly those concerned with the well-being of their
communities and their society. |
